A place to grow

Welcome to

South Africa Class!

Our Topic this Spring half term is:

"Yabba Dabba Do! "(Apologies to the Flintstones!)

This is a History based topic that will involve looking at the Stone Age times. We will be studying their food, clothes, way of life, homes, Stone Henge and Cissbury Ring. If you have any resources which you would like to share with the class, I would be glad to show them to the other children.

Hopefully, we will have a Stone Age day in the last week of term- more details later!

Please look at our wonderful photos of the children making and exploding their volcanoes and creating a volcano dance using the music from Edvard Grieg: 'Hall of the Mountain King!'

Cooking is on Thursday mornings and the children will be making delicious dishes to taste!- By the way, the recipe this term is based on - you've guessed it- Stone Age Stew!-(an invention test for all budding Master Chefs!

Mr Phillips will be taking groups of keen gardeners out on Friday afternoons.

Please try and hear your child read, at least three times a week if possible. It really does improve their skills in understanding text, fluency and in their own writing. Please sign and date the back of the homework book when they have read to you; I will also sign and date every week.
