Summer Term 2017

Ferring Fest 2017

We had another brilliant event this Summer with all the classes, as well as some outside guests, putting on some really entertaining acts to wow the audiences.  As well as this there were all sorts of stalls and activities including the adult and children's tombola, inflatable 10-pin bowling and fairground rides.  Thank you to everyone who helped to organise and run the event and to everyone who attended and contributed to the funds that the event raised for the school.

School Council Learning Walk

Our school councillors have been on a learning walk around school to review the learning environment.  They visited all of the classrooms as well as other areas around the school to identify things they like and how the environment helps them to learn, as well as come up with ideas about things they would like to include to make their learning environment even better for them.  They will be leading class council lessons to find out how all the children in the school feel about where they learn, which will be fed back to the staff as we continue to provide the children with the best learning experience they can enjoy.  It was clear to all just how important our councillors were as they wandered around the school, as they all had clip boards!!

Sports Day 2017

Everyone took part in this year's Sports Day with great commitment and sportsmanship. The children made a great effort with all the activities and it was particularly nice to see how well the older children supported the younger children.  Well done to Yellow House who won the Sports Day competition and to Amelia Atterbury and Callaghan Stobart  who won Sports Personalities of the year.

Year 4 Drumming Concert

Year 4 entertained the whole school as well as families with their final Djembe drumming concert of the year.  They have worked hard all year to develop their skills as drummers and were able to perform in small groups and as a whole class to demonstrate just how far they have come.  Well done to all of the children for a fantastic concert and thank you to Mr Gilmore for another year of leading the music lessons in Year 4.

Rock Steady Summer Concert

The children that take part in our weekly Rock Steady Club delighted our audience with another great performance, demonstrating just how much they have learned this term and just how talented they are.  They have worked hard, shown dedication and commitment and have shown how collaborative work within a band really pays off.  Well done rock stars!

Money Matters 2017

Once again all the children took part in our Money Matters week in the final week of term. Each class made products to sell on their stalls which they, planned, sourced, costed and made in order to ensure they made a profit.  All profits made from the sales were going to St Barnabas House.  Goods on sale included picture frames, plants, fidget spinners, jewellery and croissants to name but a few.  Families and friends were invited to purchase items of their choice at very reasonable prices and made comments such as "Excellent service, couldn't have been more helpful,  I will come back", "What an amazing sale, wonderful things to buy" and I think it's excellent, so good to see the kids being creative". Thank you to everyone who joined us and spent money and well done to all the staff and children for your efforts.  We managed to raise over £500!!
