SUPPORTERS OF FERRING SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

Charity registered No: 1123683

Welcome to the Supporters Of Ferring School Association (SOFSA).  This charitable organisation was set up in 2005 and it is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, which includes members of staff and parents/carers of pupils.  SOFSA’s objective is to help to enhance the educational experiences and facilities for children at our school.

 How do we do this?  We aim to do this by:

  •          raising funds for school projects outside of the normal school budgets;
  •          organising social functions and supporting school activities so that we may develop the relationship between parents/carers and the school;
  •          engaging in activities that support the school.

These aims are achieved through fundraising events held throughout the year.

Ways you can help and get involved

All parents/carers and members of Ferring school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available.  There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through SOFSA.

Offering to help before events or at other times during the year is so valuable – it really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’.  It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can’t come into school.  There are always little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare, eg. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the unseen ‘army of help’ that exists in and around our school.

The Committee

The committee meets on a regular basis at the school usually once or twice per half term, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary to organise larger more complicated events. All members of the SOFSA committee agree to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check through the school even if they have one through their workplace.
