Autumn 2015

Year 6 Bikeability

Year 6 children have taken part in and enjoyed Bikeability week.  The instructors were very impressed with the attitude and effort from all of the children that took part (and their perseverance in the rain).  As a result many of the children are now equipped with the knowledge and skills to cycle safely around the local area.  Well done to everyone who took part!

Battle of Britain Day Flypast - 15th September

Ferring School children were fortunate enough to find themselves in the flightpath of the variety of Spitfires and Hurricanes that took off from Goodwood Aerodrome to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.  The children watched with excitement as the  aircraft flew overhead.  Everyone enjoyed the event, particularly Year 5 who are currently studying WWII as their topic.

NSPCC Assemblies - 10th November

The NSPCC have been in to our school to deliver assemblies to all of the children to explain about the fantastic work they do.  The assemblies were really well delivered and shared stories to help the children understand how and why NSPCC was established, how to stay safe and the role of Childline in offering children a chance to share concerns or worries. Following on from this we will be raising funds for the NSPCC.  All of the children will take part in a series of multi-skills sports activities (an event which we regularly take part in). We have asked the children to collect sponsorship for taking part.  The NSPCC is extremely grateful for our support.

Christmas Fair - 4th December

Our Christmas Fair was a  huge success.  Everyone who attended had a great time and there was a really fun, festive feeling around the school.  Father Christmas spent time with the children, there was an exciting fairground ride in the playground, a variety of very busy stalls and some entertaining acts from the children.  Thank you to everyone who contributed towards a lovely event, your efforts are always appreciated.

French Christmas Morning - 16th December

We had a very successful French Christmas morning.  All the children were mixed up with children from other year groups to take part in a variety of Christmas activities which gave them the opportunity to learn and understand about Christmas traditions in France.  They worked really well with children of all ages and produced some lovely work.  The activities on offer were a range of art, music and PE.
